What is binding? Our standard carpet binding is folded over the edge of your rug and stitched on. The finished width is aprox. ¼ to 3/8 inch. We match the color as close as possible to your carpet. (We stock around 400 colors.) What is Serging? A serged edge is a continues wrap of yarn that finishes the edge of your rug. The finished width is aprox. 3/8 inch. Because it is made with yarn it looks more like part of the carpet and is much more durable and stronger than binding because the bottom stitch that holds everything together is much heaver. It is a great way to give a subtle look of elegance and quality to your rug without a lot of extra expense.
