Tapestry & Fabric Borders

Tapestry or Fabric Wrap Borders are an excellent way to tie a room together by using the same or similar fabric to border your rug as you have in your sofa, curtains, pillows, seat covers etc. You can provide nearly any fabric you desire however; keep in mind the traffic the rug will incur, a good heavy tapestry or upholstery fabric is best. You can even have two fabrics sewn together to create a double fabric border. Almost any type of carpet can be used including sisal & sea grass.

This rug was ordered by a designer, for her own home. Notice the excellent choice of color in the tapestry. It really ties the room together.

This is an example of an inset fabric border with an accent border and the field color repeated on the outer border.

Here is a full view of the same rug.

This is a fabric wrap over the outer edge of a Berber carpet.

Another outer edge wrap, but this time it was necessary to create a semi ridged outer border to make this loosely woven carpet hold its shape.

This is a heavy tapestry wrapped over the outer edge of sisal.

Here is a unique rug.It was originally made into a typical rectangle shape. But after some time the designer sent it back to us with a template that we used to reshape the rug.It now fits around the new fireplace her client had installed.

This is a fabric border inset into a heavy plush carpet with two one-inch accent borders and carved.

Here is another example of a fabric wrap over the edge of sisal, but this time we ran the pattern of the fabric around the carpet, centered on the border.

This is one of my favorite rugs. It actually has two fabrics sewn together to create a double fabric border over the edge of sisal. Notice the sisal, it has red sisal woven in it to match the outer border. The designer who created this look really had it together.

Here is a little twist, the designer used only one small accent border between colors and clipped the corners. Nice heavy cut pile carpet, carved to easily transition from the carpet height down to the fabric. Great looking rug!

Some ones house really looked great when these were delivered.

This designer really found a great tapestry. We wrapped it so that its own pattern created a natural accent border.

Here is another great fabric. Looks just like animal skin. We found the pattern, ran it down the center of the border and wrapped it over the edge of sisal.
